43. Jackson Drumgoole II: Building Bridges For Foster Youth

Dr. Ann James

As a teenager,  this 25 year Army veteran, Jackson realized that the way he was living his life didn’t match up with the man he wanted to become which led him to join the Army after initially serving 2 years in the Air Force.

Based on his work with military fathers during his multiple deployments to Iraq, Jackson was awarded GQ magazine’s Father of the Year. However, it was the community response to his first book, They Call Me Daddy: A Diary of a Dysfunctional Father, that launched Jackson to be known as (Chief Encouragement Officer) to other fathers.

If that wasn’t enough, Jackson is  the founder and executive director of Drumgoole Family Initiatives and the Bridge Builder Community, an organization helping foster youth transition successfully into adulthood.

Jackson proudly represents as a member Kappa Alpha Psi Incorporated.
